THE INFLUENCE OF LASER PROCESS PARAMETERS ON BIO-PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF BIODEGRADABLE POLYMERS

Supervisor:  Celina Pezowicz, PhD

Duration: 19.03.2014-19.03.2017

Biodegradable polymers are now widely used, including medicine, to influence the development of new therapeutic methods. The use of laser technology allows the unlimited formation of these materials with very high precision reachuing micrometer scale – impossible to obtain with classical technologies. Therefore, the aim of the project is a comprehensive analysis of parameters determining the influence of laser radiation on the degree of decomposition of biodegradable polymers, change of crystallization degree, mechanical properties, hydrolysis degradation rate and biocompatibility.
